What happens to image quality?

We test multiple quality levels to find a good result within your size limit. If needed, we gradually reduce the dimensions. Smaller targets can lose more detail, so use the before-and-after comparison.

Are my photos stored on a server?+

No. Your photos are never uploaded. Compression happens in your browser, and only the files you choose to download are saved to your device.

Is it really free?+

Yes. Image compression and ZIP downloads are free, with no account or login required.

Can I use it on my phone?+

Yes. Use a modern browser on your phone. Process large photos in smaller batches to stay within your device’s memory limits.

Will my photos lose quality?+

Some detail may change during compression. We search for high quality within your target and reduce dimensions if needed. Check the result using the comparison slider.

Can I compress PNG images?+

Yes. Auto mode converts PNG to WebP while preserving transparency. You can also keep PNG in advanced settings. PNG size is adjusted by reducing dimensions rather than a JPEG-style quality setting.

Can I make a photo exactly 500KB?+

We aim for at or below your maximum, not an exact byte count. Results are checked using actual bytes. Already-small photos may be returned unchanged. On SlimPic, 1KB means 1,000 bytes.
