Resize image files for forms, email, and websites

A “file too large” error is not always just about bytes. A website may separately require a specific format, dimensions, or aspect ratio. SlimPic helps with file size and maximum dimensions, but you must check the destination’s requirements.

Four checks before uploading

1. Maximum size: Is the limit per photo or for the whole batch?
2. Accepted format: Choose JPG explicitly if only JPEG is accepted.
3. Pixel requirements: Check whether an exact crop or aspect ratio is required.
4. Legibility: Make sure faces, names, numbers, and small text remain clear.

Application and ID-style photos

Reducing a photo’s file size does not make it compliant with passport or official ID rules. The issuing organization may specify backgrounds, face proportions, capture conditions, or editing restrictions. Check its official instructions. SlimPic does not remove backgrounds, retouch faces, or crop to an exact ratio. Width and height settings are upper limits, not forced dimensions.

Email attachments and ZIP files

If an attachment limit applies to the whole email, several individually compliant photos can still exceed it. Check the total. Putting JPEG or WebP files in a ZIP often saves little additional space. SlimPic’s ZIP function bundles your already-compressed images for convenient downloading.

Blog and product images

Preserve enough detail for labels, textures, and small text. Test one photo before processing a large batch. A very small image can look blurry when displayed at a large size. Choose PNG or WebP when you need transparency, and check the destination’s format support.

If the smaller file is still rejected

Make sure you selected the newly downloaded file rather than the original. Compare its actual bytes, output format, and dimensions with the requirements. Try a slightly smaller target if the site interprets units differently. Filename restrictions and website errors cannot be fixed by compression alone.

For private documents, verify your result and submit only where needed. SlimPic does not transmit image data, but the website you later upload to has its own handling and privacy practices.
